About The Position

Oxford Forge, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician for our 2nd shift operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient production of high-quality forged components, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining equipment. Must be able to work the 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 PM)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with experience operating heavy machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents such as blueprints and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment monitoring.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and stand for extended periods. Capable of working in mild to hot conditions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor various manufacturing equipment and machinery, including presses, furnaces, and finishing tools, according to established procedures.
  • Perform routine quality checks on in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and identify any defects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to set up machinery and complete production tasks accurately.
  • Load and unload materials and components onto production lines, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and perform basic preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Record production data, including quantities, rejected parts, and equipment performance, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all 5S principles and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and resolve issues.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with inventory management and material handling as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
