About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for supporting the Design, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and the Materials Organization in the development and assembly of new and existing products. This role involves a wide array of assembly responsibilities for a diverse set of aerospace sensors. The technician will actively participate in the development, implementation, and application of processes (assembly and test) for mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic instruments. They will interface directly with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to assist with the development and documentation of new products, associated processes, fixtures, tooling, and equipment. The technician is capable of building qualification and first build products from sketches and detailed work instruction documentation, performing manufacturing operations as required by verbal instruction, engineering drawings, manufacturing or quality documents, and other standards. Additionally, they will proactively support opportunities to improve new and existing manufacturing processes, fixtures, tooling, and equipment, participating with engineering teams focused on process improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives utilizing formal tools such as six sigma, lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and others. The technician will also perform all manufacturing tasks (fabrication, assembly, and test) required to support ongoing production at the site and support product transitions by preparing product, equipment, fixtures, tooling, related documentation, and processes for transitions to other AMETEK manufacturing sites.
