JOB SUMMARY A Manufacturing Technician is responsible for starting, stopping, monitoring, and troubleshooting plastic injection-molding machines as well as minor troubleshooting of coupled automation systems. Their specialized knowledge includes materials, specific tools, and equipment. Key tasks involve daily maintenance of specialized injection molding machines to custom automation systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Troubleshooting abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to problem solve and take initiative.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other production maintenance functional teams to achieve best in class results.
  • Ability to learn Jabil systems and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Injection molding certifications such as AIM, Routsis training, or RJG are nice but not required.
  • Experience with Husky branded Injection Molding Machines is preferred.
  • Experience in operating and troubleshooting Plastic Injection Molding Press machines is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of injection molding machines, the injection molding process, and materials used are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspection and review tasks to keep the process functioning to standards.
  • Answers equipment alarms (Injection molding machines, tools, and automation) and documents changes as required.
  • Accomplishes minor repair of process/equipment as needed and directed by the daily priorities.
  • Maintains process efficiency by documenting changes and interventions in the sites production monitoring system.
  • Eliminates downtime by writing and processing work orders for/on damaged equipment requiring repair.
  • Performs daily mold cleanings as instructed.
  • Performs restart, shutdown, and close-out activities.
  • Performs a variety of diagnostic troubleshooting activities on assembly automation equipment.
  • Performs planned color changes when required by planning and/or customer orders.
  • Monitor the Automation process and ensure continuity of production.
  • Perform minor automation process/maintenance work as needed.
  • Improves working conditions by providing supervision of the workplace environment with particular emphasis on safety.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
