About The Position

The Pre-Test Bay Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic tests on CT detectors to ensure proper functionality prior to installation. This role involves operating specialized test equipment, identifying and troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with engineering and quality control teams to optimize testing procedures. The technician will play a key role in maintaining product quality, improving testing workflows, and eventually training others on established processes while continuing to expand technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, biomedical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a testing, manufacturing, or quality assurance environment—preferably in medical device or imaging technology.
  • Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot complex test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and documentation practices.
  • Experience working with radiation-emitting equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience; ability to train and support junior technicians.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all detector pre-tests in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Operate test equipment to evaluate CT scanner detectors, ensuring accurate and reliable performance.
  • Document test results thoroughly and accurately, maintaining compliance with procedural and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing, escalating complex problems as necessary.
  • Provide detailed feedback to the Quality Control department to support product integrity and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize testing workflows and contribute to process development.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, especially when working with radiation-emitting equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional partners regarding technical issues and process improvements.
  • Assist in training and mentoring other technicians, sharing expertise and promoting best practices.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities consistent with a group lead role, including initiative, accountability, and technical guidance.
  • Comply with all established procedures and perform additional duties as assigned.
