This position involves working the 3rd shift, specifically from Sunday 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM and Monday to Thursday from 10:15 PM to 6:30 AM. The role requires performing electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to identify issues in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment utilized in the manufacturing process. Responsibilities include dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment based on layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, and rough sketches or drawings. The technician will use test and diagnostic equipment for checkouts and may need to rebuild manufacturing equipment as necessary. Additionally, the role may involve performing equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers. The technician will independently determine and develop approaches to machinery repair and troubleshooting, demonstrating full knowledge of motion controls, industrial controls, electrical, and pneumatic operations to resolve complex machine issues on the production line. The position requires exercising discretion and independent judgment regarding repairs to major breakdowns and often leading collaborative efforts in significant repairs. Timely troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic failures of production machines is essential, along with seeking opportunities to eliminate recurring failures. The technician will also perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) work and look for improvements to the PM program, conduct moderately complex troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment, and ensure compliance with quality system requirements. Communication with and providing technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians is also part of the role.
