As a Joining Support Technician II, at Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC), you will play a key role in ensuring the performance and reliability of Medtronic's innovative products. You'll troubleshoot and maintain advanced laser and resistance welding equipment, as well as accurately document results. Working closely with engineering and production teams, you'll help drive technical solutions and process improvements, all while upholding the highest safety and quality standards. Requirements

  • Requires minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Two, or more, years of experience in technical areas such as metallurgical, electronic, mechanical, or related disciplines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, laboratory personnel, and other teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute daily tasks.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as working collaboratively with other technicians and technical experts.
  • Good electrical, mechanical, and problem-solving skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Devises, fabricates, installs, tests, and repairs mechanical equipment and systems involving the movement of physical components in the manufacturing area.
  • Assisting engineers with developing technical solutions related to the operation and performance of devices and systems.
  • Installs, repairs, and upgrades components of mechanical devices and systems in the manufacturing area.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components for machinery and equipment.
  • Conducts quality assurance/control tests and procedures.
  • Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, calibrates, and performs preventive maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Diagnoses, isolates, and resolves issues with welding equipment and processes, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Accurately records work and observations in designated equipment maintenance systems.
  • Collaborates with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues, implement solutions, and assist in training new technicians or operators on welding procedures and equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and company procedures, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment using workplace organization methods such as 5S.
  • Corrects malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts or components as directed.
  • Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices such as Digital multimeter as needed in performing job duties.
