About The Position

As a Manufacturing Systems Deployment Engineer within the MET team, you will manage a portfolio of vehicle programs to determine and lead the strategy, adoption planning, communication, governance, and deployment of Ford’s digital manufacturing capabilities. Ultimately managing deployment and training to ensure successful adoption by the manufacturing workforce as you work closely between the engineering requirements and software development teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience within engineering program management, understand program timing and deliverables.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment (automotive, aerospace, or heavy industry preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong Project Management skills and results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Deployment Strategy and Implementation: Work closely with Software Requirements team and Program Managements teams to define the Vehicle and plant Deployment strategy and adoption plans for each Program Team. Orchestrate the full rollout of digital tools to Vehicle Program engineering and manufacturing sites. This includes creating technical documentation, determining Training needs of Program Team rosters and monitoring usage metrics to drive active adoption of the new technology.
  • Project Management: With a clean understanding of Program Timing, driving/anticipating Program Strategy and Requirements. Manage program cycle plans, and ensure timely delivery and consumption of tools to Programs through program milestones. Identify risks and collecting Lesson Learned from existing program teams.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the bridge between software development teams and manufacturing stakeholders, including engineers, plant personnel, and leadership—by clearly articulating software tool process and strategy to each Program team and synthesizing technical details.
  • Reporting: Process and System maps (Strategy vs Reality), Heatmaps of Adoption, KPI framework and Dashboards Track success of consumption of tools.
