About The Position

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Level 3) at Northrop Grumman will be part of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation development team, responsible for defining, developing, implementing, and transitioning new technology solutions to manufacturing. The role focuses on increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving quality through advanced manufacturing technologies. The engineer will interface with various stakeholders, manage multiple projects, and ensure compliance with regulations while meeting technical, schedule, and cost obligations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 1+ years of experience in engineering, aviation, systems engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production; OR Master's Degree with 0+ years of experience.
  • Experience working with IPTs and various customers such as Air Force and Navy.
  • Project/Program Management skills including proposal creation, scheduling, and budget tracking.
  • Strong familiarity with Process Development & Controls.
  • Ability to travel 20-35% of the time.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Current and active DoD Secret level security clearance with a periodic re-investigation.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills and ability to make sound technical judgments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project, Visio).
  • Experience in the development and deployment of network architecture and digital infrastructure.
  • Proposal experience and experience in early phases of program lifecycle.
  • Experience with Digital Transformation, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, and IIoT.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, implement, and transition new technology solutions to manufacturing.
  • Increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality in manufacturing processes.
  • Incorporate requirements into development plans and evaluate performance of processes and tools.
  • Identify and initiate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies.
  • Provide guidance on design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements.
  • Interface with internal and external customers, program offices, and engineering disciplines.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic work environment.
  • Utilize budgeting and project management skills to scope and execute assigned work.
