Manufacturing Systems Automation Program Manager (PLC/Robotics)
About The Position
Lead the next wave of manufacturing automation Join Alliance Laundry Systems to architect, deliver, and scale controls and automation solutions across our plants. You’ll manage vendor-delivered systems, develop in-house capabilities, and set the bar for how software changes, safety, and standards are done. Your impact Grow and coach a team of automation and controls engineers. Own electrical controls/automation projects, enforcing engineering standards and best practices. Act as the escalation path (not first response) for plant reliability on PLCs, HMIs, Andon, VFDs, and servo motion control. Direct software change management: optimize programs and maintain detailed records. Shape enterprise guidelines for electrical engineering, controls, automation, Industry 4.0, and IoT. Drive cross-plant improvement initiatives with manufacturing, corporate engineering, and union partners. Facilitate root cause analysis for electrical, instrumentation, and control issues. Create processes and support tools that maximize software and operations effectiveness.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent technical degree with relevant experience
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams
- Track record delivering electrical, controls, and automation capital projects in manufacturing/assembly
- Robotics integration experience
- Leadership in project management for electrical/controls/automation systems
Nice To Haves
- PLC/software programming skills—Allen‑Bradley as the primary platform; Siemens exposure a plus
- Experience implementing Andon, Industry 4.0, and IoT systems (Ignition preferred)
- Safety expertise including machine guarding and risk assessment analysis
- Ability to read/apply hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and detailed mechanical drawings for controls work
- Preferred tools: AutoCAD, Creo, Fusion
