About The Position

Provides Manufacturing Operations with technical support. Provides Manufacturing Operations with Programming support. Ensures all programs are created using established standards for machining specific Value Stream product. Maintains programs in a manner which safeguards the integrity of the established standards. Ensures that all production drawings, process designs and improvements are developed to meet customer requirements, productivity and quality expectations. Manages projects within designated cost, quality and timelines. Requirements

  • AS Degree in Machining Technology or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing / programming CNC lathes, mills and multi-axis machines. Proficiency with CAD/CAM software using solid modeling is essential.

  • This position requires access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment is contingent upon the applicant being a “U.S. person” as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15), which includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, as required by U.S. export control laws.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and design process improvements, utilizing lean manufacturing methods to enhance manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs. Research new machine and tooling equipment and methods
  • Develop manufacturing method and work instructions on new products or new equipment to meet productivity and quality requirements. Conduct tolerance studies. Determine tools, jigs and fixtures to support manufacturing operations.
  • Interpret drawings to write programs for CNC machines that include proper methodology, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds in order to generate quality parts in accordance with production standards.
  • Act as a troubleshooter for assembly / machining process / manufacturing problems. Resolves problems. Works with Engineering, Inter-departmental leadership and Operators to resolve issues. Creates Work Guidelines.
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of each job’s initial set-up and final outcome.
  • Revise programs and documentation-based engineering changes. Maintain library of programs.
  • Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program/Procedures and company policies.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports on safety incidents to supervisor.
  • Contribute to 5 S programs in work area.
  • Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in training/learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed.
