About The Position

The Manufacturing Supervisor at AVK Industrial Products, a Precision Castparts Company, is responsible for the direct supervision of focus-factory/process production employees. The role focuses on maximizing safety, quality, variable cost, individual and plant-wide productivity, and technical skill development to ensure on-time shipments and customer satisfaction. The supervisor will work closely with various departments to ensure production methods align with internal quality standards and customer requirements, while also managing labor, equipment, and supply needs to achieve manufacturing throughput and productivity targets.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading teams of 20+ people.
  • Experience in aerospace/fastener/metals manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of fastener materials preferred.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience with header tooling and equipment.
  • BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or similar is highly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Experience with inspection equipment (Micrometer, Comparator, Dial Caliper).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise focus-factory/process production employees.
  • Maximize safety, quality, variable cost, and productivity.
  • Ensure production methods are consistent with internal quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Assist material planner in scheduling manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze and communicate performance standards for operation departments.
  • Control the flow of products, materials, and labor utilization.
  • Review and plan for labor, equipment, tooling, and supply requirements.
  • Lead daily employee team meetings and solicit feedback.
  • Develop and implement systems for improving quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
  • Document department functions and maintain Time and Attendance records.
  • Control and dispose of scrap in operation departments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality to meet safety and cost requirements.
  • Provide leadership to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Analyze variable labor costs and determine staffing levels.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Plan and support cross-training to eliminate skill gaps.
  • Administer policies and procedures.
  • Support a zero-injury culture by complying with safety practices.
  • Conduct Supervisory Briefings and Daily Huddles.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
