About The Position

At the Avionics Product Center, we are at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge electrical instrumentation and wire harnesses to all Final Assembly locations. With a dedicated team of over 220 employees, we ensure the highest standards of quality and precision in every product we deliver. Our mission is to support Sikorsky’s innovative aerospace and defense projects, contributing to the success of our global operations. As a Supervisor within the Avionics Product Center, you will oversee a team of hourly operators across one or multiple business units in Stratford, CT. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the assembly, testing, and control of in-process and finished goods meet company standards, government regulations, and contract requirements. Requirements

  • Experience in supervising assembly and testing operations.
  • Strong understanding of compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, staffing, and training programs.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a safe and ethical work environment.
  • The ability to encourage and recognize employee contributions to improve operations.
  • Ability to understand procedures, work instructions and specifications, and apply this knowledge in day to day activities
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS office applications with the ability to learn new programs that may be job specific
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Ability to work in customer-focused environment, maintaining effective communication with internal/external customers, including DCMA

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with represented hourly labor force
  • Experience with SAP
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, either ISO 9001 or AS9100
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a plus.
  • Previous Sikorsky experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage daily operations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Assist in developing and managing budgets, staffing, and training programs.
  • Participate in management meetings to discuss business status and strategies.
  • Lead daily team meetings to communicate company objectives and business updates.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through regular Environmental, Health, and Safety audits.
  • Promote an ethics-based business culture and encourage employee involvement and innovation.
