About The Position

Shaw Industries is hiring a Twisting Supervisor to effectively lead and continuously develop the team through managing, monitoring, and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the department. Assure optimum balance of safety, quality, cost, service, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Lead or Supervisor experience in manufacturing within the last 5 years required.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
  • Able to make good decisions under pressure and in fast-paced production environments.
  • Able to manage assignments, machinery, and materials effectively.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of associates and establish positive associate relations.
  • Strong knowledge of the twisting process, set up process, and the key inputs that drive quality output.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that proper training is given to all associates to perform their jobs appropriately and identifies training needs and communicates them to the Manager.
  • Provides hands-on coaching and support to associates to associates to improve performance and skill level.
  • Responsible for quality on shift and works with all associates to assure quality.
  • Maintains awareness of critical controls and ensures they are monitored and followed.
  • Ensure that SMS requirements are up to date and being followed by all associates.
  • Maintains good communication with associates to ensure optimal departmental safety and directs their activities when needed.
  • Schedules and assigns associates in the most effective manner to meet the schedule.
  • Ensures effectiveness of technicians relative to machine downtime and priorities.
  • Monitors performance of personnel; develops and communicates corrective action plans for associates requiring improvement.
  • Maintains associate attendance records according to current policies and updates Kronos.
  • Communicates with other departmental supervisors to maintain effective flow of material through the plant.
  • Notifies Production Planning personnel when schedule is not followed.
  • Maintains all required documentation of shift details.
  • Ensures that standards are communicated and met with regards to departmental housekeeping.
