We are seeking an entry-level engineer to be the first point of contact for the service‑desk, handling tickets to keep our digital engineering software tools running smoothly across North American manufacturing sites. The role offers hands‑on exposure to factory software, opportunities to learn software development, and provides a solid foundation for a career in site reliability and DevOps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems (including legacy versions such as Windows 7) and networking concepts.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Python or a comparable scripting language is a plus, but not required; on‑the‑job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment, configuration, and continuous improvement of software systems for factory operations, including those that interact directly with customers
  • Respond to service‑desk tickets, investigate and resolve issues that affect the operation of digital‑engineering applications in the factories.
  • Monitor basic health metrics (CPU, RAM, storage) on Windows workstations and VMs and report abnormal conditions.
  • Learn and apply fundamental backend development concepts (e.g., Python scripting) to automate simple remediation steps.
  • Document incident details, steps taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system; contribute to runbooks and knowledge‑base articles.
  • Participate in on‑site rotations with factory teams, gaining exposure to physical hardware and the manufacturing environment.
