About The Position

Located in Kings Mountain, NC, we're currently looking for a Sanitation Lead to provide leadership and support to our sanitation team, ensuring that our facility operates smoothly, efficiently, and in full compliance with USDA and FDA regulations. Requirements

  • Prior experience in a sanitation lead or supervisory role, preferably in a USDA-regulated facility.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with team members at all levels.
  • Creative, analytical problem solver with a hands-on approach to resolving issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • A solid understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (GMP, HACCP).
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to address basic equipment issues.
  • A proven track record of successfully leading teams, with the ability to drive performance and results.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership and direction to the sanitation team, ensuring effective cleaning operations to meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Oversee the application of sanitation control measures, ensuring processes are aligned with USDA and FDA regulations.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing sanitation programs, including master sanitation schedules and checklists, to maintain a clean and compliant facility.
  • Champion safety practices for equipment, sanitation, and personal safety, while ensuring all procedures follow regulatory and company policies.
  • Foster a culture of growth and collaboration by mentoring and coaching sanitation team members, identifying training opportunities, and supporting career development.
  • Help maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and tools. Stay on top of stock levels and proactively address any shortages or needs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and sanitation processes, contributing ideas for continual improvement and performance optimization.
  • Play a key role in internal and third-party audits, ensuring compliance with all standards, from GMP to HACCP, and assisting with audit preparation and execution.
  • Assist in managing a cross-training program to develop a skilled, multi-functional team.
  • Enforce policies and handle disciplinary actions when necessary to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Help with any additional tasks or projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of the sanitation department.
