The Woodshop team contributes to growing our company and ensures that materials are ready to assemble quickly for our customers. As a Crew Leader, you will be expected to provide direction and leadership to your team on a variety of tasks. You will work closely with your supervisor to define the daily, weekly and monthly goals and ensure your team is meeting expectations. You will ensure the team has all the necessary training, tools and resources to accomplish their assigned tasks. You will have the responsibility to observe, correct, coach, discipline, work on the line and make some very difficult decisions. You will respond to difficult situations. You will also have the pleasure of watching your team grow, develop and hopefully mentor the next crew leader. Position Summary This position is responsible for leading the operation and programming of the Robot / CNC machines. The position requires strong computer skills, ability to use applicable programs and lead the maintenance of machines. Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience operating and programming CNC / Robot machines
  • 3+ years experience in a leadership role, preferably leading CNC teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to methodically, strategically and collaboratively make decisions, solve problems and foster innovation
  • Able to adapt to changing needs and priorities
  • Able to sit, stand, reach and carry as needed for a full shift (8 or 10 hours shifts)
  • Must be able to lift, carry up to a maximum of 50 lbs
  • Maintain and follow all safety guidelines/procedures/activities throughout the production floor. Participate in all safety meetings/trainings applicable
  • Must be self-motivated and have a positive, solution-seeking attitude
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to commit to a consistent work schedule with good attendance

Responsibilities

  • Experience leading Robot/CNC teams.
  • Coach, mentor, train and provide leadership to employees; Crew leads are responsible for the growth development, corrective actions and reviews of the employees within their department with support of supervisor and HR as needed.
  • Experience with CNC programming, preferably with Maestro
  • Analyze system (Business Central "BC") requirements and ensure team accomplishes daily production planning. Responsible to ensure completions in BC are done correctly
  • Working knowledge of safe wood working techniques and tooling
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory in their assigned department and regular audits will be performed by the supervisor to ensure inventory is properly maintained
  • Responsible to improve team efficiency & performance while maintaining a high level of performance without compromising the quality of our products
  • Participate in interviewing, evaluating and making a recommendation on candidates
  • Other duties as assigned
