About The Position

Challenge Mfg. Company’s Internship Program allows students to obtain real world work experience through technical and software exposure. This exposure is granted through individual projects, hands-on tasks on the plant floor, and much more. Challenge Mfg. Company prides itself on giving students a head start on experience in the Automotive Industry to enhance their future. We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Quality Intern to join our team! What You'll Do: Weld Destruct: Week 1: Review weld destruct area, familiarize with work instructions/Plex/equipment. Week 2, 3 & 4: Create work instructions for weld destruct parts. Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ): Week 1: Review Safe Launch data in Plex: Determine, based on data, what needs to remain on Safe Launch and what can come off. Week 2, 3 & 4: continue through all safe launch parts, review PCs associated with safe launch issues, determine next steps to remove part from safe launch. Gage Cage: Week 1: Review Gage Cage, familiarize with Plex and gage area, determine best method for labeling and storage. Week 2, 3 & 4: Continue to label and organize gage area; determine best method for production exchange of gages; investigate RFI tags. When and Where: This will be a 1st Shift / 7am - 4pm M-F position located at our Plant in Holland, MI.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a four-year Bachelor’s degree related to Mechanical Engineering from a accredited college or university
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to be considered for the Internship program
  • Must have superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in global manufacturing environment
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
