We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Hanover Park, IL team. In this role, you will participate in and support kaizen events, Lean work cell design, standard product design revisions, cost improvement projects, capital expenditure projects, and supply chain initiatives. You will provide technical support for plant operations, ensuring that the assembly line operates smoothly and without hindrance. Your focus will be on simplifying and ergonomically improving the assembly process while implementing lean-manufacturing techniques. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide guidance to operators, cell leads, and the Production Manager regarding projects, process improvements, and issues with the line. You will support production by providing fixturing and tooling, conducting time studies, and troubleshooting quality and process issues. Identifying causes and developing strategies for eliminating recurring downtime will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also be involved in sourcing vendors, defining Statements of Work (SOWs), and managing contract deliverables when outside sources are utilized. Monitoring processes, including new equipment and tools, to ensure performance to specifications is essential. You will implement both capital and non-capital projects and work closely with plant quality control and manufacturing personnel to ensure that processes and equipment are capable of producing products that meet quality and engineering standards. Additionally, you will review new and modified specifications for proper content and schedule their introduction into the manufacturing system.
