About The Position

The Manufacturing Production Planner at Publix is responsible for creating production schedules, storage plans, and product distribution plans for assigned manufacturing facilities. This role ensures that the demand for finished products at stores and distribution centers is met by managing inventory levels and coordinating with various departments to optimize production and distribution processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • One year of manufacturing experience, production planning experience, or equivalent experience through college coursework.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and be on-call 24/7.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and complete tasks independently with little supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain flexibility.
  • Ability to prioritize, analyze, and interpret results under strict deadlines.
  • Good organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer software programs, specifically Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to utilize various data sources for accurate forecasting of future usage and trends.
  • Ability to travel overnight or on extended trips, including by air.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team member.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field or equivalent experience.
  • Three years of experience in production management, logistics planning, or supporting Publix manufacturing SAP production planning processes.
  • SAP experience in forecasting, production scheduling, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Knowledge of relevant manufacturing operations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM from APICS).

Responsibilities

  • Create production schedules for assigned manufacturing facilities to meet store and distribution center demand.
  • Order and manage inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and operating supplies used for production.
  • Analyze and manage inventories in divisional warehouses and manufacturing plants, including forecasting future movement and sales through SAP.
  • Work with department managers to adjust production schedules as necessary throughout the week.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Supply Purchasing and vendors regarding problems, pricing, lead times, and changes.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Transportation Department and Distribution to manage multi-vendor transportation and warehousing of packaging and ingredients.
  • Serve as a resource to Plant Management and other departments regarding ordering, transportation, invoices, and finished product inventories.
