About The Position

Scot Forge is seeking a Forge Utility Worker to join our team. This position involves working with your hands in a hot work environment, performing tasks that require mechanical aptitude and strong math skills. The role includes coordinating metal pre-forgings, loading and unloading heavy pieces into the forge furnace, and performing various tasks related to metal inspection and transport. We are looking for individuals who are interested in a career rather than just a job, and who are comfortable with frequent heavy lifting.

Requirements

• Ability to do frequent heavy lifting in a hot work environment.
• Strong Math and Mechanical aptitude.
• Tape measure and computer experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Use of micrometer, caliper, tape measure.
• Machine set up and operation.
• Blueprint reading.
• Fork lift experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate metal pre-forgings with Blacksmith.
• Load and unload 50 lb pieces with tongs into forge furnace and hammer.
• Locate metal material, inspect, grind, stamp, transport, etc.
• Remove scrap from pit, shovel and unload.
