OSI Electronics is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to join the team. This individual will oversee the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products. They will also ensure the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Additionally, they will help develop processes and instructions for new and or existing products, as well as documentation, training, support and equipment service/maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • Must have 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing setting or related industry.
  • Experience with SMT and Through hole PCB assembly processes is needed.
  • Working knowledge of Screen Printing, Pick-n-Place, Reflow Oven, Temperature Profile, AOI, X-Ray, and Wave Solder Operations strongly desired.
  • Experience with IPC-A-610 standards is essential.
  • Must have knowledge of MS office software.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in the business language (English).
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be US Persons based on ITAR definition.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and development of the manufacturing processes; this includes but not limited to Pick and place programs, SMT reflow, wave solder temperature profiles and all other manufacturing processes.
  • Perform time, efficiency and process studies and recommend solutions for improvement of PCB Assemblies.
  • Streamlining manufacturing processes, procedures, work instructions to improve first pass yield, eliminate rework and scrap.
  • Validate SMT and Through-hole processes for all new assemblies.
  • Generate AOI programs using CAD/CSV files.
  • Initiate tooling for SMT and through holes processes. Work with SMT department to improve, solder paste and epoxy stencils printing, pick-n-place, and reflow operations.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, production, and program managers for problem resolution.
  • Handle multiple projects and priorities in a teamwork environment and perform job functions in a timely manner.
  • Will work with team to come up with labor quotations on new potential projects.
