Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 2 or more years' experience in an engineering, operations management, manufacturing, quality or closely related industrial environment OR a Master's degree and 1 year or more of experience in an engineering, operations management, manufacturing, quality or closely related industrial environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience reading and interpreting blue prints
  • Hold a Secret Clearance OR be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering degree (aerospace/manufacturing/mechanical/industrial)
  • Understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Working knowledge of assembly processes; CAD experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with SAP, Teamcenter, HMS and Solumina for Assembly
  • Experience and knowledge of NC machining processes
  • Systems and automation experience
  • Data analytics and machine connectivity experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement with focus on implementation of leading technologies; support CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) activities as required. Lead CORE activities within the Engineering department.
  • Investigate and evaluate applicability of new processes, equipment, and technology; optimize existing equipment and technologies to improve part quality signature and machine utilization
  • Interpret of technical data such as Engineering Drawings, Quality Assurance specifications, etc., which will flow down into process work instructions; update work instructions for clarity and continuous improvement.
  • Work with shop floor to process Turnback data and improve process performance; lead development of new manufacturing and quality technologies.
  • Support all EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) initiatives (operator ergonomics) by driving safe processes across all production product lines.
  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective action investigations using root cause analysis tools; review & modify tool designs, track and implement tool changes and corrections; responsible for data driven root cause and corrective action tool usage
  • Implement and execute engineering changes to ensure customer requirements are met and build commitments are achieved
  • Drive product cost reduction and ensure cost curtailment targets are achieved through process improvements and deployment of new technologies.
