About The Position

The Manufacturing Process Engineer position is focused on improving processes and procedures to enhance safety, increase capacity, reduce costs, and improve quality on current window and door manufacturing production lines.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have knowledge and skills in applying engineering principles, methods, and practices as used in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • Product Management experience a plus.
  • Product testing experience a plus.
  • Must be able to deal with complexity in a professional manner.
  • Strong knowledge in Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge in Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Must be proficient with Windows productivity tools such as MS Excel, Word, etc.
  • Working knowledge in product commercialization processes required.
  • AutoCAD drafting skills are essential.
  • Must have high degree of proficiency using 3-D design software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Must be able to work and effectively communicate with project teams, interoffice departments and with co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors and operators.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing process engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations (AAMA, WDMA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Maintains product and process data base by entering and managing data in statistical process control software.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians and operators.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
