About The Position

This position provides technical support for Production Operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Troy, Alabama. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes and special tooling/equipment, as well as creating and maintaining detailed work instructions. The position also includes providing manufacturing production floor support for assembling and testing military missiles, and developing root cause and corrective/preventative actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, or 6 years of related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work all schedules/shifts (first shift, night shift, and weekend schedule).
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to pass an ATF background check to obtain employee possessor status.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing mechanical assembly processes.
  • Experience with electronic testing methods and factory automation equipment.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety processes and technical writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and drawings.
  • Familiarity with DELMIA Apriso MES and SAP ERP tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and special tooling/equipment.
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions.
  • Provide manufacturing production floor support for missile assembly and testing.
  • Conduct detailed failure analysis to determine root causes and implement corrective/preventative actions.
  • Interpret engineering requirements from product data drawings, parts lists, specifications, and schematics.
  • Demonstrate mechanical hands-on abilities to assist in missile assembly and testing.
