About The Position

The Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler I is responsible for planning and scheduling all aspects of production at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This role focuses on optimizing production schedules, improving continuous processes, and ensuring efficient resource utilization to meet key performance indicators such as on-time delivery and safety stock levels.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred, with planning and supply chain experience as a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems, particularly SAP.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule all aspects of production to ensure efficient operations.
  • Analyze data to resolve production scheduling issues and improve processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time delivery and safety stock levels.
  • Assist with timely and accurate planning of material requirements to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Coordinate new product introductions as assigned.
  • Provide input to management regarding labor and material shortages and potential schedule interruptions.
  • Collect relevant information to solve planning problems creatively.
  • Recalculate orders and requirements based on demand trends and safety stock levels.
  • Follow up on open orders and partial shipments, expediting as necessary.
  • Attend daily management meetings to provide updates on planning and production issues.
  • Partner with external departments to resolve operational issues.
  • Analyze root causes of stock outs and implement corrective measures with cross-functional teams.
  • Control documentation related to operations planning, including backorder reports and delivery performance.
  • Handle replenishment levels for safety stocking programs.
  • Evaluate capacity requirements and monitor production readiness and material availability.
