This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Manufacturing Engineering Planners write detailed work instructions in support of factory operations and contributing to hands on assistance at the shop floor utilizing schedules, parts, tools, engineering designs and processes to ensure a robust, reproducible and repeatable build plan that provides configuration control to the product. Manufacturing Planners ensure that engineering requirements are incorporated into the build from a hands on technical prospective and ensure production data can be properly recorded and non-conformance dispositions are released and can be worked. This function also provides manufacturing shop assistance, ship side support and build plan support. More senior levels help develop build plan at the cell and factory level. As part of a hardworking team of experts you will directly support program execution for Manufacturing Engineering for the New Glenn orbital launch vehicle. As a Manufacturing Planner, you will provide training and support for Manufacturing Engineering processes which utilize system tools, including mBOM creation, change notice submittal, work order authoring, engineering change implementation, nonconformance processing, BOM reconciliation, and work order execution. You will also be responsible for providing oversight for the creation and maintenance of manufacturing plans and authoring and executing work orders for outplant processing. In addition you will maintain and communicate manufacturing engineering metrics and schedules. The company celebrates strong collaboration, unique and innovative solutions, and passion for success. Requirements

  • HS/GED/Equiv required.
  • Associate Degree or trade school in related discipline and/or 7+ years of manufacturing planner, or production experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Understanding of Project Management, Lean Six Sigma or lean methods.
  • Intermediate experience with P6 or other GANTT-style project management tools

Nice To Haves

  • Strong technical knowledge in one or more disciplines
  • Expert understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to lead independent contributors and lead a cross functional team.
  • Expert with Manufacturing & CAD Software (Jules, CMES, Velocity, Enovia, Delmia, CATIA, CREO, Etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Leads at the cell level the development, implementation, and maintenance of various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions, and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration of major production hardware
  • Leads at the cell level the development and integration of suppliers, processes, materials, data, and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.
  • Leads the reviewing of supplier data to ensure manufacturing-related requirements are met.
  • Develops tooling requirements and initiates tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
  • Leads tooling dispositions.
  • Leads the Investigation of and resolves manufacturing-related issues of a broad scope.
  • Participates in producibility assessments for part or product designs.
  • Provides input to design, manufacturing processes, and manufacturing technologies to meet costs and schedules at the cell level
  • Develops work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments for major hardware.
  • Reviews, maintains and monitoring of internal documents and schedules
  • Provides shipside support
  • Functions as an individual contributor or as part of a cross functional team.
  • Helps train junior teammates.
