About The Position

The Test Manufacturing group within The Test Equipment Engineering directorate is seeking a Manufacturing Planner I to manage and lead the acquisition and manufacturing of Test Equipment. The Manufacturing Planner I will resolve test equipment and prototype manufacturing issues based on knowledge of the engineering design, need, and final intended application. This position includes generating and monitoring the progression of multiple requisitions through the procurement cycle, facilitating resolution of procurement issues, and ensuring items are delivered to meet customers' schedules. The Manufacturing Planner I will utilize Engineering Manufacturing Management System (EMMS) to generate work orders, build/maintain indentured build of materials (IBOMS), generate material requisitions, and provide material/work order status to customers. This position is 100% ONSITE in Tucson, Arizona.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant engineering experience interpreting engineering drawings related to electrical instrumentation, assemblies, cables, chassis, electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering lab environment area
  • Experience with material procurement
  • US Citizen - Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with test equipment or prototype engineering hardware
  • Experience maintaining configuration control of products and drawings
  • Experience interfacing directly with customers in an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software and database applications
  • Experience with the design, use, and fabrication of electrical instrumentation
  • Experience dealing with supply chain and material obsolescence issues

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the design, acquisition, and manufacturing of complex test equipment including cables, chassis, electro/mechanical fixtures
  • Participate in engineering design reviews
  • Manage and maintain build configuration and quality history records
  • Acquire, track, manage material from procurement through final delivery of completed test sets
  • Assist in resolving manufacturing issues and overseeing delivery of final products to internal/external customers
