About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Operator to join our team in Jackson, MI! The position requires the flexibility to work 1st shift: 7 am - 3:30 pm, 2nd shift: 4pm - 12:30 am, and 3rd shift: 10:30 pm - 7 am. The hourly rate for this position is $16.50 per hour. 2nd and 3rd shift hours offer an additional $1 per hour shift premium. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Jackson, Michigan site is a unionized location. There is a 5-month probationary period, after which you will be considered a union member and begin paying union dues. What you’ll do: Direct and indirect hourly labor positions are responsible for hands-on product manufacturing, material movement and storage, assembly, and quality testing. In this role, you will: Create a safe work place and follow safety best practices. Work on cross functional Lean/Continuous Improvement Teams to improve manufacturing process efficiency and customer quality and delivery performance. Assemble products using machines and hand tools. Test assemblies using test machinery. Inspecti parts using fixtures, gages, and other inspection equipment. Shipping/Receiving dock, stockroom, material movement, and packaging activities. Extensive use of computers to view and edit manufacturing documents, transact inventory, and enter/track/maintain/analyze production data.

Requirements

  • Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED completion required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or higher from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Experience with production and inventory tracking software preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience using computers, math, and blueprint reading skills.
