About The Position

Gorbel's mission is to improve people's lives, guiding their product and service provision, as well as their internal work environment. They are a manufacturer of material handling and fall protection products for production and warehouse/distribution sectors, committed to innovation and process elevation. The company is growing and hiring in the US and Canada (operating as Engineered Lifting Systems and Equipment (ELS)/DBA Gorbel® Canada in Canada). The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for the efficient flow of incoming materials and the preparation of outgoing materials. This involves using various material handling equipment, ERP systems, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, including operating an overhead crane to maneuver and stage materials. The role demands a high level of attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to pass truck and crane certification with training upon hire
  • Ability to read tape measure
  • Ability to read a blue print
  • Ability to use hand tools requiring dexterity
  • Ability to climb portable ladders
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with factory supervision

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for moving materials and components about the factory using carts, pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes
  • Follow job orders and blue prints to specifications
  • Responsible for machine set-ups, operations and maintenance to meet production demands
  • Responsible for inspection and documentation of work to accurately meet specifications
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of raw materials of various weights and lengths
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced high production area with minimal supervision
  • Use problem-solving skills to stage and palletized loads in an efficient and cost-effective manner on outbound trailers. This includes skidding, banding, wrapping, and crating product in a way that saves space and time, and ensures loads are protected during transport.
  • Inspect incoming/outgoing material for quality, dimensional accuracy, and correct quantities.
  • All other duties as assigned by management
