About The Position

THE ROLE: Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to join our team. As a manufacturing technician in the Rotomold department you are an essential part in helping Entegris be part of the future of Innovation. The Rotomold department produces and assembles medium to large custom-made drums that are utilized by Entegris customers to store and dispense a variety of chemicals. In this role you will perform a variety of tasks such as setting up and operating a rotational molding machine, welding plastic components on molded drums, and performing a variety of tests on assembled products by following Standard Operating Procedures and high-quality standards. HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE 6AM-4PM MONDAY-THURSDAY WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older and have the right to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • At least one (1) year of previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge about powered hand tools.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret work order blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team setting.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for at least 50% of your shift.
  • This role involves occasional maneuvering of heavy equipment and products by operating a crane.
  • Must be able to use measuring devices (Calipers, measuring tape) and repetitively pinch and grasp hand/power tools.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to be used at all times while on duty. This includes the use of safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, respiratory protection, and high-visibility vests.
  • Respirators may be required based on work tasks and will require additional certification and training.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with rotational molding machine operation and/or plastic welding is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures adjustments, alignment, temperature control, and rotation molding machine calibration adhere to work order specifications.
  • Utilizes a crane to safely mount required molds into the rotation molding machine.
  • Loads pre-weighed raw materials (Polypropylene & PFAs) into rotation molding machine molds.
  • Unloads finished products from the molds after the Rotomold cooling cycle and transfers them to designated areas for further processing.
  • Trims excess material and cuts specified openings and incisions of molded products using appropriate cutting equipment and techniques.
  • Visually inspects and takes measurements of molded products to ensure compliance with high-quality standards.
  • Interprets complex drawings and blueprints detailing welding specifications for each work order.
  • Assembles and welds different plastic components (i.e. dip, side tubes) on molded products by following supplied part instructions and by safely operating a variety of powered hand tools, including drills, routers, wrenches, welding torches, and saws.
  • Conducts various leak tests on assembled products, ensuring product compliance with high-quality standards.
  • Performs sandblasting on steel and titanium molds to prepare surfaces for the rotation molding process.
  • Uses SAP and other electronic systems to issue raw materials, find, record and generate documentation throughout the rotational molding, testing or welding process.
  • Records all output and production data in ERP systems and maintains compliance with all online training and documentation requirements.
  • Works with the Rotomold team lead and manufacturing engineer to implement rotational molding machine adjustments based on specific work order specifications or technical issues.
  • Finalizes all required paperwork thoroughly and in timely (i.e. Production Reports, Rack Tickets, Labels, Component Sheets, Rework Sheets, SAP Transactions etc.).
  • Maintains accurate attribute/variable charts of rejected materials.
  • Integrates on all key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality.
  • Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement activities such as 5s, Kaizen events, etc.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures.
  • Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor.
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.
