About The Position

The position involves setting up parts to be machined on one or more lasers and managing the machining process. Responsibilities include starting the laser, monitoring the operation, moving machined parts through cleaning and inspection processes, and ensuring quality and accuracy through inspections. The role requires maintaining a clean work area, accurately recording data, and adhering to safety policies and performance standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to run several machines concurrently.
• Ability to package parts after scribing to prevent damage.
• Excellent eyesight and judgment.
• Ability to enter data onto a computer.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to form independent conclusions related to tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Good eye to hand coordination.

Responsibilities

• Setting up parts to be machined on one or more lasers and managing the process of machining the parts.
• Starting the laser and monitoring the progress of operation.
• Moving machined parts through the cleaning and initial inspection process.
• Inspecting/measuring machined parts for quality and accuracy using appropriate inspection systems.
• Rejecting any parts not meeting standards for excellence.
• Examining machined parts through a high-powered microscope to test for accuracy.
• Accurately recording all points in the manufacturing and testing process.
• Keeping equipment and work area clean and tidy at all times.
• Turning chiller system on and off when required.
• Monitoring and adjusting the supply of gases to the laser.
• Maintaining accurate records, paperwork, and data entry up-to-date.
