Responsibilities

  • Attend a 3-week training program and participate in 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training.
  • Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC's to perform routine production operations.
  • Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring and/or chamfering operations.
  • Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
  • Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.

Requirements

  • High School or GED.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
  • Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
