About The Position

The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor supports day-to-day manufacturing operations within the Materials Testing Division, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role directly supervises technicians and operators, supports continuous improvement efforts, and works cross-functionally to meet production, safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in an applicable discipline and 4 years applicable experience to include minimum of 1-year prior lead/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment OR High school diploma or equivalent and 8 years applicable experience to include minimum of 1-year prior lead/supervisory experience.
  • Experience in hydraulics, electromechanical assembly, or precision manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a regulated or ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience leading hourly employees in a technical or industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MRD and Kanban System is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing technicians and operators within the Materials Test Division, including performance management, employee development plans, and regular performance reviews.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, including compliance with all EHS policies and procedures; participate in incident investigations and safety-related audits as required.
  • Ensure daily production schedules are met while achieving safety, quality, delivery and cost targets
  • Coordinate staffing, work assignments, and cross-training to support production demands.
  • Ensures assigned staff are qualified and appropriately trained for assigned work.
  • Create and maintain training plans and records and ensures that appropriate training programs are in place and yielding required results.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and take corrective action or escalate issues as needed.
  • Control the cost of providing products and services within assigned area(s).
  • Monitor actual costs against standard costs and planned project costs, and contribute to the development and implementation of product, system, and project cost improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and other internal partners to resolve production issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor demand for area services and adjust staffing levels to meet requirements using available methods, including internal resources, contract agencies, and direct hiring in partnership with HR.
  • Monitor and adjust point-of-use inventory levels within areas of responsibility, and coordinate with Supply Chain to address shortages, excess inventory, or accuracy issues.
  • Manage timekeeping and attendance processes in accordance with company policy.
