About The Position

When the plant comes alive at dusk, you’ll be the one setting the pace. As our Manufacturing Operations Supervisor on 2nd shift, you’ll guide a talented crew through safe, high-quality production and continuous improvement—turning plans into precision-built product. Schedule : Monday–Thursday, 7:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m., with overtime as needed. A day in your life You kick off the shift by aligning priorities, confirming tools and materials are staged, and assigning work so every Team Member can deliver at their best. On the floor, you coach and remove roadblocks, uphold housekeeping and safety expectations, and keep quality at the forefront. Throughout the night, you track output, dive into root causes when issues arise, and rally small teams for quick, measurable improvements. Before the lights go down, you capture results, update records, and set the next shift up for success.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or a related discipline.
  • Completion of a Team Coordinator Assessment.
  • Lean/Six Sigma or Project Management certifications.
  • Familiarity with Lotus Notes email and JDE is preferred; proficiency will be expected within your first three months.
  • Willingness to complete Team and Continuous Improvement Training.
  • Strong planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on technical support capability in a production setting.
  • Working knowledge of CFM, pull systems, Kaizen, Poka‑yoke/Poke-yoke, Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, Just-in-Time, time standards, ergonomics, EHS, ISO 9000, computer skills, and assembly-process manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily manufacturing activities and serve as the primary problem-solving resource for your area.
  • Champion safety and housekeeping requirements; ensure all processes reflect the highest standards of safe work.
  • Optimize production while protecting quality; balance people, tools, and flow to achieve targets.
  • Assign work to maximize productivity and cost efficiency; verify tools, fixtures, and materials are available and ready.
  • Coach, train, and provide timely feedback, including day-to-day guidance and periodic performance appraisals.
  • Facilitate small-group initiatives and Kaizen activities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain thorough records of performance, changes, and results for your area.
  • Evaluate current and new products to determine optimal methods, standards, equipment, tooling, flow, and facilities.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis; partner with supporting functions (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering) to implement timely fixes and improvements.
  • Continuously monitor operations for cost, safety, and quality opportunities; prepare analyses, layouts, and comparative cost estimates.
  • Audit production standards and update data to improve accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with MPS, WPS, Router Documentation & Work Instructions, ISO standards, JLG Quality System Procedures, and EHS requirements.
  • Identify quality risks or opportunities and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Initiate changes to machines, processes, materials, and assembly methods when needed.
  • Implement inspection strategies to improve end-product quality and reduce cost.
  • Investigate product defects; recommend modifications to products or standards when warranted.
  • Provide technical support to Materials Management for sourcing raw materials, supplies, and equipment, including qualifying new suppliers.
  • Contribute to long-range planning for manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
