About The Position

Inside the Role Supervisor for HDEP Machining - manages shop floor discussions, promotes practical problem solving, fosters a strong level of communication across shifts and across various teams. In addition, establishes a strong daily cadence. The Supervisor will also demonstrate good interaction and relations with the team, as well as the UAW. We Take Care of Our Team Position offers a starting salary range of $104,000 – $133,000 USD Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. What You Drive at DTNA Supervise the manufacture of sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand. Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature. Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials. Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing. Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations. Manage and adhere to the 5 "pillars" of Manufacturing: 1. Safety 2. Quality 3. Delivery 4. Cost 5. Morale Lead and communicate Start of Shift/End of Shift production information to support groups(Maintenance, Quality, Production, etc) Utilize Practical Problem Solving Skills Embrace Team Oriented discussions - Shop floor meetings with cross functional groups occur daily Daily cadence oriented - managing your daily operations cadence throughout the production day. This includes shop floor meetings, maintenance activities, Layered Process Audits, along with utilizing a variety of communication platforms. Leadership: Coach and mentor the daily activities of direct reports Support and facilitate a safe and ethical working environment and culture Coach, motivate, and develop team members to higher levels of performance Clarify expectations, regularly communicate, provide ongoing performance feedback, and counsel assigned employees Track and monitor shift, team, and individual employee performance Utilize assigned team leader(s) in Lean Principles to promote and develop a continuous improvement culture Effectively support and follow all policies outlined in the contract, handbook, and/or policy guide

Requirements

  • BS/BA and 4 years of relevant experience OR 6+ years relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of or ability to apply Lean/Continuous improvement tools and principles, including experience with problem solving activities
  • Prior experience leading teams or projects to achieve elevated levels of performance and engagement in a manufacturing or logistics setting is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information, handle sensitive issues, and translate, simplify, and clarify information for employees is required
  • Must be willing and able to complete all required Supervisor training and apply learnings
  • Proficient computer skills and utilizing MS Office Applications
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
