We are seeking a hands-on, process-driven Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead our regional shop operations with a strong focus on efficiency, workflow optimization, and operational excellence. In this role, you will oversee fabrication, production planning, logistics, and shop performance while driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance throughput, quality, safety, and cost control. You will partner closely with Project Managers, Purchasing, and QA/QC to ensure materials and fabricated components are delivered accurately and on schedule to support project success. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, or related field preferred but not required; equivalent practical experience will be considered
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in mechanical shop fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial production environments
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvement, workflow optimization, or Lean initiatives
  • Strong understanding of pipe and sheet metal fabrication, procurement, and assembly
  • Experience working with labor unions and improving labor relations and efficiencies
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all pipe, and sheet metal fabrication activities across regional shops
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, workflow optimization, and waste reduction
  • Develop and implement master fabrication and production schedules to maximize throughput and on-time delivery
  • Evaluate and improve shop processes, tooling, and layout to enhance productivity and accountability. Lead ROI studies for process and equipment purchases.
  • Ensure all work is performed in the safest manner possible, reinforcing a strong safety culture
  • Participate in turnover, pre-construction, and project status meetings to maximize fabrication opportunities
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Purchasing, and QA/QC to align on certifications, communications, Internal SOP’s, contract and code requirements
  • Oversee shop deliveries, drivers, and order accuracy to ensure reliable material flow to job sites
  • Oversee management of shop inventory levels to ensure materials are available and ready to support project demands
  • Oversee team responsible for deliveries, tools, and equipment
  • Monitor key performance metrics and implement process improvements to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase efficiency
  • Foster strong labor relations and continuously improve workforce productivity and engagement
