About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First-Line Manufacturing Operations Manager (level K) to support the 777 Change Incorporation & Refurbishment (CI&R) in Everett, Washington. This role is crucial for cultivating strong cross-functional partnerships to achieve team and program objectives, while fostering a work environment that prioritizes safety, quality, accountability, trust, and teamwork. The manager is pivotal in promoting a first-pass quality approach within manufacturing and is dedicated to the success of their team members. In this position, the leader will oversee the successful implementation and support of 777 CI&R Boeing Production Systems initiatives on second shift, including Staffing, Training, Compliance, Safety, EI, and Lean. Additionally, the leader will oversee 5S and Tooling and Equipment Management. The manager will lead the second shift BPS team and may also provide direct support to production and manufacturing as business needs arise. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • 3+ years working in an aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace
  • Must be willing to work 2nd shift

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience managing Key Performance Indicators within Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Manufacturing data
  • 1+ years of experience using Boeing Production System (BPS)
  • Must be adaptable and able to execute with urgency
  • Commitment to Go for Zero and Incident Injury Free (IIF) principles

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
