About The Position

Ulbrich’s manufacturing divisions in North Haven and Wallingford, CT have immediate openings for skilled individuals in our slitting, annealing, rolling mill and shaped wire operations. In these positions you will assist in the set-up and operation of heavy, sophisticated equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to set up and operate heavy, sophisticated equipment.
• Experience with Turkshead machines or wire mill operations.
• Ability to read micrometers and other measuring tools.
• Ability to perform math calculations.
• Considerable physical effort required.
• Mental and visual attention required.
• Demonstrate safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating shaped wire equipment, Turkshead machines.
• Producing various sizes, shapes, gauges and complex dimensions as well as round and special shapes.
• Ensuring the quality of the product on all operations handled.
• Following applicable ISO procedures.
• Performing operator preventative maintenance.
• Maintaining equipment and work area to the required safety and operational standards.
• Regular use of a forklift, hand truck, and overhead cranes.
• Participating in various team activities.
• Reading a micrometer and other measuring tools.
• Completing math calculations.
• Checking for variations and defects on the materials.
