Who You Are We seek a NPI Engineer to develop and implement fabrication and assembly processes to transition new products from New Product Development to full production release. This position is primarily geared towards products in low-volume production that consist of high-precision components and/or complex system architectures. This position will also manage strategic product transfer to multiple sites, including process, fixture, and lessons learned support. What You Will Do Design of production tooling/fixtures for quality and assembly consistency Developing assembly work instructions Set up and support of new product lines Create time standards and operation steps. General knowledge of various fabrication/manufacturing processes such as: CNC machining, sheet metal cutting/forming, PCBA, wire harness, box build assembly processes, 3D Printing Design For Manufacturability (DFM/DFX) Engineering Change Notices (ECN)

  • Plan, design, and implement manufacturing and assembly processes for new product development
  • Manage the New Product Introduction build process. Report design and build issues.
  • Work with design engineers to determine critical-to-function features and determine best methods to ensure quality and reliability while maintaining ease of manufacturing/assembly
  • Review detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for accuracy and tolerances
  • Determine parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications
  • Design tooling and fixturing for production and quality control
  • Develop and optimize process flow and work instructions
  • Support low-volume production to verify achievement of process plans and targets for quality, safety, efficiency, and cost.
  • Maximize production efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization
  • Identify equipment/resource constraints and opportunities
  • Issue and answer Root Cause Corrective Actions using various methods. (8D, 5-Why, DAMAIC, Fish Bone)
  • BS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, and/or other types of CAD or 3D modeling software
  • Gerber/PCB software (viewers)
  • Microsoft Office
  • Minimum 2 years of electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Understanding of ISO, IPC, and J-Standard
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and assembly drawings
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Team leadership ability and exceptional organizational skills.
