Ascentec Engineering, LLC, located in Tualatin, Oregon , is seeking Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Interns to join our team and work through the 2026 Summer! This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) at our Tualatin, Oregon facility. Requirements The Engineering Intern(s) will be responsible for a wide variety of projects that range from new workspace facilities improvements, process improvements, machine operation, expediting, inspection optimization. The successful candidate(s) for the position will support overall business objectives of our machining area through continuous improvement in productivity of operations, work with other Maintenance, Engineering and Manufacturing departments in the development of processes to increase production quality, efficiency or volume. Assembly Process Optimization: Utilize engineering principles to analyze and enhance assembly procedures. Collaborate with the assembly team to implement improvements in efficiency and quality. Work on projects aimed at streamlining assembly processes. Advanced Machining Operations: Apply engineering knowledge to optimize CNC machining, milling, and turning processes. Collaborate with machinists to implement advanced techniques for precision part production. Contribute to the development of new machining strategies and tooling solutions. Quality Assurance and Control: Implement statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor and enhance quality. Lead root cause analysis for quality issues, applying engineering methodologies. Work on projects to implement advanced quality control techniques. Maintenance Support: Work closely with the maintenance team to understand equipment reliability and maintenance needs. Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules for manufacturing equipment. Participate in troubleshooting and maintenance activities to minimize downtime. Documentation and Analysis: Utilize engineering analysis tools to assess and document assembly and machining processes. Generate comprehensive reports on quality control inspections, incorporating statistical analysis. Collaborate with the engineering team to provide insights into process improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with design engineering to provide feedback on manufacturability and assembly considerations. Collaborate with production planning to ensure optimal workflow and resource utilization. Contribute engineering insights to enhance the overall product lifecycle. Safety and Compliance: Apply engineering principles to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Participate in the development of safety protocols for assembly and machining operations.
