About The Position

Kamatics is seeking a Materials & Process Lab Technician who supports production and quality operations by performing routine laboratory testing, sample preparation, and process monitoring. This role ensures compliance with NADCAP and internal standards while maintaining high levels of accuracy, productivity, and timeliness. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Basic blueprint reading and understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and scales
  • Familiarity with hardness testing equipment, titration systems, and optical measurement tools
  • Exposure to laboratory and chemical processing environments
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, as necessary
  • Frequent standing, bending, and twisting
  • Frequent visual and mental attention to detail
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs
  • This position requires access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment is contingent upon the applicant being a “U.S. person” as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15), which includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, as required by U.S. export control laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace or regulated manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of aerospace processes and quality standards preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine materials and process laboratory testing in support of production activities
  • Prepare samples for microstructural examination, hardness testing, and chemical titration
  • Conduct chemical process tank solution control procedures in accordance with NADCAP and internal requirements
  • Perform chemical solution control, maintenance, and large-scale solution make-ups and additions in accordance with NADCAP and internal requirements
  • Safely handle chemical agents and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator use, as required for certain processes
  • Utilize laboratory equipment, including thermal mechanical analyzers, ovens, and measurement tools, to support production processes
  • Assist with static load testing and measurement activities in support of Quality Control, Test & Development, and R&D
  • Review and analyze test data, including results from external laboratories
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of test results and processes
  • Assist in processing raw materials used in production
  • Follow all work instructions, safety procedures, and environmental regulations; report any incidents as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment; support 5S initiatives
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide a high level of internal customer support
  • Participate in cross-training and perform other duties as assigned
