About The Position

We have an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Technician . In this function you will perform work involving the skills to keep machines operating, upkeep of mechanical equipment, and repair to machinery for departments including Thermoforming and Extrusion. Starting Pay : up to $35.00/hour plus $0.75 night shift differential. Exact pay is based on experience. Shift Times : 7:00 pm - 7:15 am (night shifts). Requirements

• High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 years maintenance experience including machine repair and electrical diagnostic of extrusion (plastic and foam) equipment.
• Moves and lifts heavy objects and capable of repairing and operating production equipment.
• Willingness to work and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Sits or stands for a prolonged period.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must be able to make good decisions and troubleshoot in a high-pressure environment.
• Moderate computer skills
• Ability to work safely, willingness to train in cross-functional areas, and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Able to read blue prints and schematics, PLC programming, robotics, VFDs, HMI's, Electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic maintenance
• Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
• Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary
• Order parts, supplies and equipment
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, machinery, and equipment
• Assists other workers with specific tasks as requested
• Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP's
• Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
• Works within defined processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments
• Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures
• Supports the Plant's Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices.
