Our Johnson City, TN Location is looking for someone to join our team as a Maintenance Technician on 2nd Shift.  This shift is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.    We offer competitive wages and a full menu of benefits including health (3 options), dental (provided), vision, life (provided) + extra life, short-term and long-term disability (provided), 401k (retirement) with company matching, 10 holidays and paid time off.   SCOPE This position performs a variety of mechnical, electrical and troubleshooting functions that include, but are not limited to fabrication, modification, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of parts, sub-assemblies or equipment. Works directly with engineers, designers, specialists and management, as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with a preference of an Associates degree in Mechanical Technology or similar degree; or, a combination of education and experience equivalent to such degree.
  • Forklift operator license or ability to achieve license.
  • Three to Five years’ experience in a related field.
  • Experience with PLC (programmable logic controller)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and   maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate one-on-one and small group situation.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Basic computer skills such as Microsoft office – Word, Excel. Internet software, Email application, Database software, etc.
  • Design software.
  • Manufacturing software / programming.
  • Project Management Software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with equipment such as CNC, robotic pick and place, injection mold and compression mold a plus.
  • Machine shop experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots/repairs and adjusts pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, mechanical equipment and components.
  • Conducts and documents tests on systems and equipment to determine compliance, reliability and to identify potential problem areas; troubleshoots equipment, instrumentation, manufacturing processes, technical problems and procedures.
  • Installs hardware and software upgrades to process or support equipment as part of projects.  Performs as a member of a team to design, fabricate, assemble, operate and test systems and equipment to insure quality and reliability.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Conducts and documents tests or calibrations on systems and equipment to determine compliance, reliability and to identify potential problem areas.
  • Troubleshoots equipment, instrumentation, manufacturing processes, technical problems and procedures.
  • Performs as a member of a team to design, fabricate, assemble, operate and test systems and equipment to insure quality and reliability.
  • Supports company goals, objectives, policies, procedures, QSR, and FDA regulations.
  • Works independently to complete work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Reports complaints in accordance to complaint handling process.
  • Establishes and maintains a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Assists in maintaining up-to-date documentation, manuals and drawings.
  • Completes shop records and uses reporting system.
  • Assists in validation of new equipment.
  • Depending on the needs of the company, the employee may be entrusted with and asked to perform other tasks related to his/her competence.
