A Day in the Life In this exciting role as a Manufacturing Technician supporting Connectors Manufacturing, you will have responsibility for supporting manufacturing of high-quality components used in implantable medical devices. The Brooklyn Center facility supports the design, development, and production of components used in implantable devices for a variety of Medtronic businesses. This role will support multiple pieces of semi-automated and automated equipment, including but not limited to, Resistance Welders, Vision inspection, press fit assembly equipment, electrical/HiPot testing, sonic welding, adhesive dispensing, robotics/HMIs/PLCs and more. The core responsibilities of this role is maintaining equipment uptime, drive targeted KPIs, completing preventive maintenance and support other continuous improvement initiatives. Position level may be adjusted based upon experience. Schedule: Required hours for this position are from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on weekends, with optional additional hours available on 2nd/3rd shift during the weekdays.

Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Requires minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with operations and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience working in regulated environments (FDA, ISO).
  • Previous medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of PLCs.
  • Two-year technical degree.

Responsibilities

  • Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment.
  • Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
  • Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
