Reporting to the Maintenance Leader the Packaging Mechanic is responsible for performing planned preventative & condition-based maintenance. As directed by Maintenance Leadership the Packaging Mechanic will complete planned improvements and maintenance project work. Will work to support production as directed by the Maintenance Leader when required. Shift: 1st WHAT YOU WILL DO This position reports directly to the Maintenance Leader and plays a key role in executing preventative maintenance and loss prevention activities. The role is supported by the broader Maintenance Organization, including R&M Leads, Planners, Stockroom Personnel, and the Maintenance Manager. It requires regular interaction with Operations colleagues and Leadership to ensure maintenance efforts align with production needs and operational priorities. Additionally, the position interfaces with Engineering as directed by the M&R Leader and works closely with the MRO Stores team and Maintenance Planners to update and improve preventative maintenance documentation. This includes developing optimized PMs that may incorporate parts kitting to enhance efficiency and reliability. Performs preventative maintenance including CBM/TBM PM's as required Collects, analyzes, and reports on machine conditions to identify abnormalities that require planned downtime to correct. Responsible for communicating PM deliverables to Maintenance Leadership Responsible for working on mechanically complex machines including high speed packaging lines Will use MS Office software for data collection, and reporting Will use the SAP Maintenance function, and become fluent in the use of SAP Responsible for reporting urgent repairs required that were observed in the performance of duties Supports Detailed Root Cause Analysis as required to identify failure causes and impacts on machine breakdowns. Performs and develops preventative maintenance inspections Performs equipment lubrication, and oil analysis procedure as needed Supports mechanical repairs and component disassembly as needed. Assists in training mechanical staff on machine operation, repair, setup and center lining May be required to facilitate or perform major refurbishment of assemblies or machines as directed. Assumes responsibility for safe work practices in the performance of duties. Assumes responsibility for following GMP, & HAACP guidelines in the performance of duties
