About The Position

SUMMARY: Under general direction, the maintenance mechanic position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain systems, and equipment to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives. This position is a seasonal position, with potential to move to a permanent full time position with eligibility for benefits and PTO.

Requirements

  • Six (6) or more years of experience in maintenance; OR equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of (certifications preferred) general maintenance, electrical, mechanical, electronics, robotics including the following experience:
  • Prior experience working with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess current CPR/First Aid or willing to get certified within first six months.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Be able to coordinate a schedule and prioritize a job list for yourself as well as other maintenance staff for prompt completion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Inspect equipment for needed repair / maintenance.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment schematics, manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Troubleshoot and Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance on machines, and equipment.
  • Maintain current, organized maintenance records.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Work different shifts to perform preventive maintenance, as needed.
  • Operate forklift, stand up forklift, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
