About The Position

Position Summary: Responsible for the maintenance personnel and programs in the facility, to include mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. Responsible for spare part procurement and inventory levels. Involved in moving, installing, and rebuilding equipment. Special equipment or other requirements: Must be able to operate a volt/ohm meter, read electrical and hydraulic schematics, ladder logic, uses of micrometer, calculator, and be familiar with blow molding machinery and support equipment. Must be able to use a variety of hand tools safely and effectively.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree preferred, or combination of Highschool diploma and relevant experience.
  • Must be diversified on PC's and PLC.
  • Technical Trade School courses preferred.
  • 7+ year's maintenance experience.
  • Prior supervision experience required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, plant safety, quality systems and regulations.
  • Experience with SQF, GMPs, and HACCP a plus.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the plant in compliance with all OSHA regulations relating to maintenance programs.
  • Ensure that lock-out/tag-out rules are followed.
  • Ensures all maintenance employees are properly trained on forklift operation and safety.
  • Help perform monthly safety meetings, training, and walk thoughts with all shifts.
  • Ensures that all shop equipment and company hand tools are maintained/stored in an orderly condition.
  • Changeover/set-up equipment for production requirements, per production schedule and maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain CMMS and Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure that it stays in a safe and good working condition.
  • Help improve equipment for safe and more efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot all major problems.
  • Ensure facility is maintained per the SQF programs and regulations pertaining to the maintenance actions, operations of equipment, and materials.
  • Manage training, development, and disciplinary processes for all maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain files of vendors, parts ordered quotes and other pertinent information.
  • Setup/maintain accurate and current logbooks on all equipment, showing maintenance and repair work.
  • Order and maintain min/max inventory of repair and/or replacement parts.
  • Direct the repair of damaged parts when appropriate.
  • Communicate with supervisors, maintenance personnel, operators and plant manager to ensure awareness of problems, progress reports, etc.
  • Contact appropriate sources; obtain quotes, etc. for parts purchases.
  • Plan and schedule special projects; ensure parts and personnel are available to complete project as scheduled.
  • Ensure all new equipment is installed property and in a safe method.
