About The Position

The NPI (New Product Introduction) Manufacturing Line Supervisor will manage the manufacturing technicians to support Endoscopy New Product Manufacturing with evolving manufacturing techniques and supporting process development activities. The ideal candidate will act with passion and intensity in a medical device start-up that is fast paced and collaborative and will display the ability to perform to the requirements outlined below. Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years working in the medical device industry in a NPI, manufacturing, or operations role.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in English
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as braiding, coil winding, extruding, lamination, adhesive joining, die bonding, and laser welding.
  • Experience using dimensional/visual inspection equipment, gage pins, calipers, etc.
  • Positive demeanor with a strong work ethic and desire to be a big part of a growing organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance development priorities, timelines, and resource constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and develop technicians in a dynamic, fast-paced NPI environment

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP System
  • Experience supporting medical device and capital equipment BOMs
  • Experience creating and/or redlining MPIs and LHRs

Responsibilities

  • Manage technicians daily to support prototype and pilot builds in alignment with product development milestones and commercialization readiness
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assembly processes and lead technician training
  • Investigate assembly issues during pilot builds and work with Engineering to drive continuous improvement, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Provide input on capital equipment, tooling, and labor needs to support pilot builds, scale-up activities, and commercial manufacturing readiness.
  • Utilize small hand tools and/or precision devices and microscopes to aid in prototyping and testing.
  • Comfortable supporting multiple products and engineers to ensure on-time completion of build plans and development deliverables.
  • Maintain clean room organization (keep work area, equipment, and materials clean, organized and properly identified)
  • Coordinate material planning and inventory management for NPI activities to prevent build disruptions, shortages, or excess scrap. Lead cycle counts for NPI inventory as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required to support successful NPI execution and transition to manufacturing including transitioning pilot line into clean room space
  • Ability to work in controlled environments and oversee WIP tracking and logistics related to NPI builds
