About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for a Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) Engineer - Class of 2026 to join our team in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design and produce the state-of-the-art products that support General Dynamics Mission Systems and our clients. The Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) is a three year rotational program comprised of six, six month rotations. MLP members will work in all facets of manufacturing as well as have the unique opportunity to explore assignments in engineering, quality and business development. Program members will pursue a company-paid Master's degree as well as GDMS internal Earned Value Management System (EVMS) training – both of which are requirements for graduation from the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Department of Defense secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • GPA 3.2 (minimum); Preference for 3.6.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the methods, operation sequences and processes used in General Dynamics Mission Systems production.
  • Fabricate parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs and determine project time standards.
  • Recommend tools and processes that accompany new and existing product lines.
  • Provide guidance to fellow engineers to enhance organizational design concepts and manufacturing techniques.
  • Practice creative thinking and ideation to advance business performance.
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers' changing business needs.
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.
