This internship provides a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Operations Intern with an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience within a manufacturing setting at Prysmian's Cables facility. The intern will work closely with the manufacturing operations team to improve processes, enhance product quality, and increase efficiency.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a relevant degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret manufacturing performance data daily to ensure that correct decisions are made to support desired outcome.
  • Coordinate efforts with area supervisors and team leads within manufacturing operation to meet/exceed: Labor, material, and other variable cost performance goals.
  • Respond to associate issues in either a particular function, or, a group of processes in the manufacturing of elevator cables.
  • Assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for cable and wire process.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, maintenance, and process, to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address process challenges.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze process data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
